Original Word List
Just to Reiterate...
I used the following word list to create the KNSL creole. I gave each word below a general definition; they're not set in stone. The list is based on the Kelenala wordlist, but it's not identical. To be more specific, KNSL has eight more base words than Kelenala, giving it a total of 374 basic words to work with. Many of these words are not basic words, but just words I wanted to have basic terms for. Artist's license.
The tables below list all the basic signs of KNSL. Directly below you'll find a handy "jump to" list, so you can access the words by category, and won't have to scroll through the whole behemoth. For each category, I list the English gloss, the KNSL sign in KNSL notation (go to the phonology section for more info), and the corresponding Kelenala word. If Kelenala doesn't have a basic corresponding word, this will be shown with a dash. [Note: Kelenala does have a word for those words, just not a basic word.]
As you go through the list, I recommend trying to actually do the signs as you read them. This will help you to understand the notation system better, and will give you a better understanding of how the signs are formed. It should get easier as you go along. Probably. Enjoy the list!
