McGuffey Primer: Lessons 5 and 6

Lesson 5

Ka mama kaneko ie tiviki! Ka uolale Aya ie tiviki, ka hepote Ana ie kaneko! Kae ni'u kaneko i Ana! Kae itai Ana ie kaneko! E Ana iokue kavikavi! A mata Aya ie pataki heva ima! Ae hepa pataki kuika! A tovuka Aya fei! A hawa'a fupo'o ie keleaka o Aya! Oipe, ae hetakepo'u Aya ie fupo'o kau!

The cat hugged the rat! Aya hid the rat, and Ana attacked the cat! The cat bit Ana! Ana fled from the cat! Ana is not a big boy! Aya eyes the boy up and down! The boy stops breathing! Aya is frustrated! The old man laughs at Aya's misery! Consequently, Ana begins to plot the old man's downfall!


Lesson 6

a boy and a dog and a cat

A hala'i pataki! E ewemia pataki i palaki! Ae mata palaki ie kaneko tovuka! E ulaya palaki ie kaneko ti hevumi!

The boy lives! The boy chases a dog! The dog sees the angry cat! The dog asks the cat for help!

Will the cat come to the dog's aid?!
