Introduction to the Kelenala Lexicon and Corpus

Kelenala Lexicon and Corpus

Kelenala word:
English word:
The corpus now contains 123 sentences.

Introduction

The Kelenala lexicon and corpus is a semi-interactive corpus of sentences in Kelenala along with their English translations. The way it works is that I type in a Kelenala sentence and type in its English translation. At that point, the sentences are stored, and each word becomes a link, such that if you click on the link, you'll find every sentence that word appears in. Pretty neat, huh?

Kelenala is a super creole, and its 400-or-so word vocabulary can be used to do many things, as I decree. This lexicon is record of my arbitrriness. The language will be expanded almost spontaneously as I add sentences to this corpus. Should be fun!

As a quick note, I'd like to thank Gary Shannon for providing the source code this page runs on. It came from the site Gary created for the Kalusa language, which was a truly astonishing project that is well worth remembering, and, given the right environment, retrying. For more information, go here.

With that, I'll leave you to your perusing. Have a ball!
