About

Ever wonder how to spell driver’s license? Or if it’s okay to use “they” to refer to a singular entity? Do you like example sentences that feature ice cream? If you answered “yes” to any of the above, you may enjoy this blog. If you answered “no” to any of the above, let me remind you that ice cream is really, really good.

My name is David Peterson, and I’m a language creator, a writer, and a confessed English major. A while back, while I was teaching freshman composition at Fullerton College, I decided to keep track of a series of common errors I was seeing on papers. My original motivation was pure laziness: Rather than noting every single error, I could just say, “Refer to error #X”. As with most ideas, it didn’t pan out, but I enjoyed writing up my thoughts about the various things I was seeing so much, that I decided to turn it into a blog.

This is that blog.
