Novu

Glyph of the word 'novu'.

novu

  • (n.) soup, broth

A male nimu ei i iumi novu kiko.
“Today I’m going to have some soup.”

Notes: And a good soup it will be! Erin’s going to make some pozole today for a gathering we’re having at my parents’.

I had something to say about the word nimu, but today’s word is novu, so I’ll leave that for later.

The iku for novu is the glyph for lelea in an inverted ko, which serves as the bowl (even though the glyph for “bowl”, pa, looks like a triangle). This glyph itself is reused in some others, so look out for those in the future!
