Glyph of the word 'moka'.

  • (n.) metal
  • (adj.) metallic

Au male late hopoko moka kiko!
“The metal men will rust today!”

Notes: Ha. Funny thing about going to sleep early. When you try to go back to a late night schedule, you get tired…

Today’s example sentence is in reference to the Steelers who face the Ravens. If you ask me, Steelers-Ravens is the most anticipated match-up of the playoffs (yes, even more than Patriots-Jets). It’s going to be nothing but hard hits, harder hits, and horrendously awful hits. It’s going to be great!

So, if you take a look at my playoff predictions, you’ll see I’m doing pretty awful. I went 1-3 during Wild Card Weekend, getting only the Ravens-Chiefs game right (oh, and by the way: Predicted score 35-13; actual score 30-7. Not bad!). Of course, no one predicted the Seahawks’ win (even though I was tempted [after all, when a team feels like they have no reason to be in the playoffs, that means they’ve got nothing to lose]), but I bought into the hype surrounding the Eagles, and, to a lesser extent, the Colts. My bad. :(

Of course, my Super Bowl prediction (Patriots over Falcons) is still good. We’ll see if that survives the weekend (I suspect not). Anyway, here’s what I now think will happen:

  • Patriots 27 Jets 20
  • Ravens 23 Steelers 17
  • Falcons 28 Packers 24
  • Seahawks 25 Bears 10

That’s right! I’m calling it: Seahawks vs. Falcons in the NFC Championship Game. (Well, I’m calling it now.) I haven’t been impressed by the Bears all year, and I’m not buying in now.

The iku for moka is fun, but you won’t know why until you see some other words. When that day comes, get ready! In the meantime, I’m flossing, brushing my teeth and going to sleep. Not even three a.m… What a peme I am.
